KINGDOM THINKING IS LARGER THAN LIFE

Life in the Spirit is Kingdom life. It’s bigger on the inside than outside.

Kingdom thinking is never reductionist. Law-based thinking always is. Located in ‘being’ instead of letters of definition, sons and daughters of God live in the truth rather than descriptions of it. Why. Because truth is Christ and to be a son/daughter is to participate in this life because He is incarnated in our being.

THE NON-SEPARATED LIFE

Our separation from God is overcome in Jesus who brings us the oneness with God the trinity enjoy as God. God is love, wholeness and oneness in Himself. We may enter our healing by agreeing with Jesus that we have been drawn into His life. As a result we undergo healing of the self in a healed relationship with God. In Christ Adamic separation is undone and we and Father are one. We minister healing best in this healing relationship with Christ.

Leanne Payne observes that “Christ empowered and commanded His followers to heal because He knew that all men, in their exterior relationships and within themselves, are broken and separated. In order to gain wholeness and the opportunity to mature as persons, we must acknowledge and deeply repent of the separations in our lives. The primary separation is between the self and God, out of which issue the separations between the self and other selves, the self and nature, and the self and one’s “deep heart.” (2) Should we position ourselves in the law we remain in separated mindset from God, even though separation has been undone and we and Jesus are actually one.

THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT OF LIFE IS JESUS

The law of Moses is a function of the knowledge of good and evil – a temporary bridge until the Re-instatement of union with God became ours in the atonement and incarnation. Jesus is the revelation of our Father. He is life itself. The life source of the universe is the trinity and Jesus is the Expression of this.

THE WAY IS A PERSON

Significantly, Jesus declared Himself as the way, the truth and the life - and so He would because these three are a function of persons, never of mere words and definitions.

INCARNATED LIFE

This is why The Word is never mere words or the letter because The Word who is God, is relationship and being. Thus, Jesus leaves no message to pay attention to the law or the Sabbath or the elements of good and evil because this is not where the Kingdom of God is. It is in persons, relationship and being. So, He says, ‘On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you’ John 14.20 NIV. He is telling us that this is realizing God, realising life and realising ourselves.

ILLUSION OF CITING

Richard Rohr observes that “Humans tend to think that because they agree or disagree with the idea of a thing, they have realistically encountered the thing itself.” (1) This why they can claim obedience to Christ in the letter while living what is manifestly untrue in the spirit.

MEANINGLESS

‘The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God’ 1 Cor 1.18 NIV. Paul is not talking about salvation generally. He means the incarnated life in which Christ is our life. Paul’s ‘Christ our life’ remains foolishness to many Believers who because of this live a limited life.

DISCERNMENT AND NOT

Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. By receiving what is ours – union with God without intervening barriers such as the law or religious observances - we see as God sees and know what God knows, because we are part of Him. We have entered life. We have come through a door into reality. We live in the spirit of sonship as a state of being rather than taking Bible studies on it.

All belong but not all participate in their belonging to the same degree. Some have a much inferior belonging than others. There’s a difference between cattle class and business class and the same is true of our journey in God.

FAMILY

When Christ is our life, we are part of the family of God. As ‘sons’ we have entered a realm where we ‘know’ the thing in itself because in fellowship with the ultimately real we are positioned to see reality for what it is.

Living a parsimonious spiritual existence in the law, we are not in our Father, in Jesus or hosting Jesus in our being. Well we are, but not more than drops when rivers are at call.

In the law or its fellow traveller, moralism, we have chosen to be living in ourselves in separation from God and attempting to compensate for our lack with unilateral statements that skirt around the truth. Paul asserts that it is more than God’s right knowledge to which we have access. We participate in His Being.

‘For it is written: "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate." 1 Cor 1.19 NIV.
